Our stay at Datai was very comfortable and Whitby Beach is beautiful! The water is amazingly turquoise, and the sand is soft and white, exactly what you want in a beach. We love waking up in the morning and seeing the beautiful water from bed.
Jean-Louis and Martine are excellent hosts and make sure that all your needs are taken care of prior to your arrival, and check on you while there to make sure you are enjoying yourself. The villa has everything you need from a well equipped kitchen to kayaks to paddle in the ocean. We loved our stay, and look forward to our fourth stay at Datai in February 2010.

After much looking for a secluded, quiet and beachfront Caribbean rental, my husband and I decided on Datai Villa for a winter getaway. We were thrilled from the moment we arrived – the villa is gorgeous, the beach perfect and the proprietor, Jean-Louis, is a gem. This is a perfect spot for a couple, family or friends looking for a relaxing and quiet retreat from the everyday world. The villa and grounds have lots of space to spread out if you want, and also works perfectly for just two. We enjoyed exploring North Caicos and the neighboring island, walking the deserted beach, swimming and kayaking. Jean-Louis is a wonderful chef – and we enjoyed everything we sampled from his catering menu. The villa is well stocked and has everything you need – rent a car (if you want the flexibility to get around yourself), buy a few things from the local stores (bring cash as there really is no ATM on the island) and settle in to enjoy a wonderful visit.

"The first time we vacationed at Datai was five years ago. We found the place on the internet and when we arrived we could not believe the comfort of the villa and the natural beauty surrounding it. No photographs can really do justice to the gorgeous beach and the crashing offshore reef. The accommodations were perfect for ourselves, our two children and husbands and, at first, one grandchild. Next year we will have caribbean vacation for the fourth time at Datai for two weeks--now with three grandchildren. We can´t wait."

We were in North Caicos during the start of May 2009. All I can say is wow. The villa is fab, whether your a couple or 6 people. Here are some photos... flickr.com/photos/… If your looking for a quiet secluded get away, with wonderful beaches this is it. Getting there is a little bit of a faf, but whether you get the ferry or plane from Provo it's well worth it. Hire a car, buy food at the local shops (it's nothing fancy but they've got all the basics), or ask Jean-Louie (North Caicos Villa owner who lives near by) for one of the dishes off his menu. And then... relax. The villa has all the amenities you could want.
