Villa is absolutely beautiful. Even better then the pictures. The outdoor seating is great. Matt and Spot are very responsive, and will help you with any needs. All the amenities are great. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into the house. We ate out every day on North and Middle Caicos. Never had a bad meal, all of them were delicious! I suggest renting a car to drive around and explore. The ferry trip is an easy 25 minute ride, and fun. This place is absolute paradise.
We were greeted by our charming and attentive host – Jean-Louis. Datai-Villa is beautiful and we took advantage of every corner of this amazing villa including the hammock, gazebo, kayak, and naturally the beach. We woke up early each morning to a soft sunrise and a beautiful ocean view.
We highly recommend Datai-Villa to anyone who wants to feel like the only people on a beautiful stretch of paradise.
My family and I stayed at Datai for a week in July and loved it. The property was gorgeous – amazing views and such easy access to the water. The house had all we needed, although we honestly didn’t spend that much time in it. We spent most of our time in the water (at the house and at various spots around North and Middle Caicos). While at the house, we really enjoyed the cabana. It was a great spot for afternoon reading, eating snacks, watching lizards, and enjoying the breeze. We also loved to sit on the deck in the evening between the houses and listen to the water and wind while our kids were falling asleep. Our favorite amenities at the house were the kayaks. We used them a number of times to go fishing and head to the reef for snorkeling. We definitely had a relaxing vacation and loved the privacy – we saw only a handful of people all week on the beach at the house. The same was true for other spots on the islands (we felt like we were on a private island at times). The owners were extremely polite and attentive. We would highly recommend the property!

We loved Datai! We spent two weeks here in February and were not ready to leave. The view is absolutely stunning. The sandy “yard” between the house and beach is amazing if you are traveling with small children! (and for many games of petanque) We saw fewer than 8 people on the beach all day every day we were there.
The house is gorgeous and well kept. Even the landscaping is notable. There are a lot of doors and windows so it feels very open and breezy. We did have a lot of wind almost the entire time; as a result we were only able to take the kayaks out a few times, and that was a work out! It even became difficult to take beach walks some days. But it did keep the bugs at bay so we had very little trouble with them.
We did bring groceries from home and from Provo; the fresh produce selection is still fairly limited. We also ate out some and had Jean-Louis cook us his pizza and quiche a couple of times – delicious! Important to note that cash is VERY useful on NC & MC – the nearby market and a few restaurants accept credit card, but some do not at all, and others add a 4% surcharge for the convenience. There is no ATM on the island, so we were carefully watching our dollars as our trip wound down and were not able to visit the Last Chance, as it was cash only.
We found it hard to drag ourselves away from the house and beach, but loved Mudjin and Bambarra beaches as day trips. Miss B’s Fish Fry on Wednesday was also an awesome experience!
My only requests would be cookie sheets in the kitchen, sharper knives, and more chairs to put on the bedroom balconies and to carry down to the beach. We did carry the big loungers down a couple of times, but they were pretty unwieldy, especially in the high winds.
In summary, this is a very unique, gorgeous property, and for the slight increase in effort in getting beyond Provo you will be handsomely rewarded with stunning beaches all to yourself. We would absolutely stay here again and are already looking at our calendar for next year!
This is our 6th time to the island and our 2nd stay at Datai and the experience was wonderful again! Everything is so well kept. Kitchen is well equipped with all you need to prepare meals if you don’t want to go out. We found that after a day on the beach, the sunset hours were so gorgeous, we did not want to leave. The beach is only steps away from the home and comfortable beach furniture is provided. Mother nature brought some seaweed in every day and even though the owner had it immaculate when we arrived, I asked him to leave a garden rake so I could keep it looking pristine throughout our stay. A little work but great exercise. The home is in an absolutely perfect location with close proximity to the ferry, restaurants and the grocery/liquor store. Food availabilty continues to get better so there is little need to stop in Providencial and carry items to the island.

Very comfortable, well laid out home. Beautiful and well maintained landscape. The location is amazing, beach and bay uncrowded and serene. A perfect retreat from today’s busy world.
A very well-maintained property with amazing views from the main house and the two main bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom is in the back. We spent most of our time on the beach or on their shaded deck. Just steps to the beach/ocean with outdoor shower, kayaks, 6 very comfortable lounge chairs. Due to no light pollution, we saw millions of stars every night and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean and the palms blowing in the breeze. Very private and peaceful.

We spent a week at Datai with our 6 adult children and had the best time and have fantastic memories. We had the beach to ourselves and most places we went – it was great. Datai villa is awesome and beautiful and was perfect for us. Jean Louise was very helpful and available for any questions and made fantastic pizza that was ready for us when we arrived after a long day of travel. We would definitely return to Datai!!!
My parents, sister, niece and I recently returned from an amazing week on North Caicos. And we really don’t think it would be possible to have found a better spot than at Datai Villa in Whitby. Jean-Louis and his wife Martine have spent many years creating this slice of paradise and their attention to detail is evident everywhere. The great design and layout of the house is only rivaled by the incredible landscaping and they are each only rivaled by the nearly endless and pristine white beach that stretches out in both directions just beyond the house’s back door. And seeing more than three people all day constituted a busy day there. Being able to get away from the crowds in such a spot was something we assumed wasn’t possible anymore. The array of shells including many conch shells were really fun to find washed up on the beach and even snorkel to find. The breezes and winds were regular so bugs were absent. The view of the backyard, beach and water from the deck of the house, the hammock and the tiki hut made us feel like we were on a movie set. We had planned a number of day excursions but only took one short ride to the three Mary Cays and otherwise didn’t want to leave Datai! And again, I must return to the commitment the owners have to maintaining an immaculately clean and well appointed house. Pictures online don’t show you everything and it is easy to end up somewhere that shows well but doesn’t work well for any number of reasons. Not at Datai. You are in great hands with the Renauds. And their referrals to other services like taxis and car rentals all worked out incredibly well and made the logistics of getting to the island and villa extremely smooth. I wanted to give them six stars but it wasn’t an option. Thanks again for the incredible experience!
The Datai Villa has the best amenities on the island with the most beautiful view. We would go to a restaurant on the water and say “let’s take our dessert home” because our backyard was the most beautiful view. The ocean waves would lull us to sleep to wake to another day in paradise. Jean-Louis made us an amazing quiche and was a delightful host. From lounging on the hammock, eating dinner on the covered deck, laying on the lounge chairs under the gazebo, or taking a leisurely walk on the beach, this place was paradise every minute of our stay!
My family spent 5 nights at Datai Villa. We wanted to get away from it all and this place is exactly what the doctor ordered. We enjoyed the beautiful water and felt as if we had the beach all to ourselves. The property is beautifully landscaped with coconut palm trees and bougainvilleas. With the exception of a few power outages across the island, our stay was perfect! Jean-Louis was attentive and helpful in making our stay special. I would recommend Datai Villa and hope to visit again soon!
Mr. Jean-Louis keeps a beautiful property. My husband and 3 teenagers stayed in August after picking our oldest daughter up from a month at SFS school in South Caicos. Great setup for teenagers. Good WiFi in the House. It was the off-season so we were glad we shopped in Provo. North Caicos is amazingly untouched by the tourist industry. We saw 6 people on the beach the entire week and one was Mr. Jean-Louis. He is very available for anything you need but gives you your privacy. It was blazing hot but the AC in the bedrooms worked well with good beds and linens. Good washing machine and a line to dry towels and clothes. We mostly cooked our meals. Did go to a local BBQ one night that was wonderful and ate at Mudjin beach restaurant which was wonderful as well. If you like to go the road less traveled this house is a must. We just left Datai and I’m already dreaming of going back. Datai is the most beautiful property with the best hosts! I can’t even describe the beauty that awaits at Datai, every window has a view of the turquoise sea and white sand beaches. Jean-Louis and Martine have done an amazing job on this well cared for property. The landscaping is amazing and creates the perfect island scene with palm trees and beautiful island flowers. We had the beach to ourselves every day all day. We felt like celebrities on our own private island. A busy day was if we saw 2 people! The house is well-cared for, clean and so comfortable–a perfect home away from home. Jean-Louis and Martine have thought of everything! They even did the shopping for us before we arrived so we didn’t have to think about a thing after many hours of travel!
The folks on the island are some of the friendliest I’ve met and you feel like family everywhere you go. We loved Miss B’s fish fry on Wednesday. Also Mudjin Resort on Middle Caicos was a great adventure. The Three Mary Cays were beautiful as well. However, the best place on the island is Datai! There was nothing better than long days on the beach, swimming, sunning, playing in the sand. My 3 year old loved finding lizards and crabs, and watching the beautiful birds fly by. Life is so very good when you are at Datai!

I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful this property is! Datai is by far the nicest home on Whitby Beach – the palm trees, hammock, covered canopy and deck are just perfect! The beach is one of the nicest we have ever stayed on and there are no crowds! The house is open and spacious; nicely decorated; comfortable beds and furnishings; has a well an equipped kitchen and is impeccably clean. Jean-Louis, the owner, is extremely helpful and has many connections on the island. His help made our time on North Caicos stress and worry-free. The property manager, Regine was on call if we needed anything.
My family and I (my wife, my daughter and her fiancé, my other daughter, my mother and myself) spent 9 nights at Datai, including Christmas. Jean-Louis recommended using Unique Taxi Services – they were great! We reserved and pre-paid our taxi before our trip (which was extremely helpful). The driver was waiting for us when we left the airport. On the way to the ferry, we stopped at the IGA to get some groceries (meats, milk, fruits and veggies). We brought a few reusable grocery bags from home – otherwise you will have to carry your groceries in paper bags that rip easily. The store is much like any supermarket you would find in the US – prices are slightly higher, that is to be expected. We brought coffee and a few other items from home.
After a 25 minute ferry ride, we were greeted by Regine and the rep from Al’s Auto Rental (also recommend by Jean-Louis). Be sure to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The few main roads are paved, but all the side roads are very rugged. When you explore you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to avoid getting stuck. The house is a short ten-minute drive from Sandy Point. Remember to KEEP LEFT!
You can find basics at the grocery stores on North Caicos. You may have to visit there to get what you are looking for but you can find it! The liquor store is well stocked and prices are not bad – the local rum and beer are great! We prepared most of our meals at the house, used the grill a lot. Princess Takeout and My Dees have great food for eat-in or takeout. We went to Parrotice Ice Cream almost every day! Take a drive to Middle Caicos and spend a day at Mudjin Harbor and Beach – its breathtaking. We enjoyed a nice lunch and frozen drinks at Mudjin Café.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Datai and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet restful beach vacation.
The location and views were postcard-worthy. This is our second time here. This time we brought guests. Their expectations were incredibly high, and they were still exceeded.
My girlfriend and I stayed at Datai for four nights and absolutely loved the property. It is a perfect destination if you want to get away and just relax. It felt like we had the island to ourselves. We found an amazing restaurant a short walk away called The Silver Palm and ate almost every meal there — Karen will take great care of you!
We had a fabulous stay at Datai Villa, a spotless, well-appointed, very comfortable, and beautiful villa situated right on a gorgeous beach where you will rarely see other people. North Caicos offers peace and quiets away from the crowds of Grace Bay. Come prepared with some groceries and there is little reason to leave this slice of paradise. Jean-Louis the owner and Regine the property manager could not be more responsive. They will help with suggestions for all the transportation arrangements, etc., and readily answered our numerous questions before our arrival.

We had researched North Caicos enough to know that it is step back from the pace of Provo and Grand Turk. It did not disappoint. Everyone on the island was great and Spot did a wonderful job taking care of us if we needed anything. The house is perfect for parents and children looking for a relaxing family vacation. We will be back.
My husband and I and our 2 grown children and their 2 children stayed in Datai villa for 5 nights. It was incredibly peaceful. We only saw about 4 other people on the beach the entire time and that was when we walked further down the beach. The house is the perfect size for our group. The house looks exactly like it does in the pictures. The backyard is so beautiful and there is always a wonderful breeze blowing. We had an air conditioning issue and Spot came over that day and replaced one of the A/C units. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. I would love to come back and stay there!

The property was in the perfect location! Everything was clean and in order. The spot was Spot on and very helpful…..The beaches were incredible, and the people on the island were very nice. This house was perfect for us and I visited several others while we were there and ours was the best! Looking forward to coming back again! Thanks for a great time…hope we left the sand fleas behind.
This house exceeded our expectations. The layout of the house was perfect as it allowed us family time together but plenty of space that we could retreat to. The beach and swimming were great with lots of opportunity for family walks with few other people around. The entire community on North Caicos was very warm, welcoming and chill. Great location for any family looking for a peaceful getaway. One tip: bring plenty of bug spray and baby oil for the “no-see-ums” which are no joke.

Everyone was so nice and loved talking with us. The food was amazing at all the restaurants. I recommend any seafood, it was all amazing. And there is a bar on the beach within walking distance. The water was crystal clear. Great place for families! I can’t wait to come back!!! If you want paradise this is it!
Had an amazing experience at Datai villa! The property is great and that beach is soo amazing! The house is well stocked and you are a quick to drive to go to restaurants and go grocery shopping.
We could not say anything negative about villa Datai. The house is lovely, well outfitted, and had lots of places for us to sit and enjoy. The beach is fabulous in every way. We only saw a handful of people the entire 10 days we were there. There were only four of us so we each had our own en-suite bedroom and bath. We enjoyed puzzling and playing many of the games that were at the house. Spot and Mattew were extremely helpful before and during our stay and could not have been any nicer. I highly recommend villa Datai. You won’t be disappointed!
